Probably not what you'd expect with a name such as this one. They are a four piece harmonious, happy, funny, fast, slow, beautiful, dark, lively group of men who's focus is vocal. They even have instruments to boot! Guitar, fiddle, bass, trumpet and a drumset that consists of a suitcase, snare and a wee little cymbal. they started off as entertainment for themselves then brought a few songs to an open stage jam, and it hasn't stopped since. The audience, young or old, will surely walk away with a grin and a giggle stuck in their bellies. Since he was a baby, Lenny Gallant has been enthralled with music and sound. It only took him 16 years to start his first band and at the age of 29, Blood Dungeon is the 3rd and most infectious project he's been in. After playing with the Chicken Snails Roadshow in Edmonton for five years, a move to Calgary connected him with a brand new music scene. Behind him is over 12 years of rhythm guitar playing. Lenny has a library of over 50 songs he has written in styles from Folk to Electronic to Rock to Country - sometimes melding them together. Leading with his voice, singing or talking, Lenny's stage presence is big and comfortable and never lacking in humour. Jason is a self-motivated team player who likes tandem para-sailing with historical figures and long walks on the beach. His favorite colour is blue. He started playing violin and trumpet at a tender age, and was scarred for life as he was teased relentlessly for being the only child on the bus with two instrument cases. Historically speaking, Jason comes from a long line of bastardized Eastern European Mafioso. He has not let this influence his musical tastes in any way. A one time member of Itchy Toque Head, Jason is a gifted vocalist and talented musician. He can be seen alternatively on the left or right hand side of the stage, playing solos and grinding melodies for all the deep stuff Lenny is singing about. Mike's parents satiated his crying requests and bought him his first full drum kit when he was 6 years old thinking it would be a passing fancy. They are deaf now. Since then he has been the backbeat of many fledgling bands including various versions of Itchy Toque Head. Mike has been a roommate at one time or another with all the members of Blood Dungeon. Although Blood Dungeon has been his favorite and most inspiring band to be a member of, he often laments the other "B" names that were considered for the band like "Misinterpreted Penetration" or "The Free Hand of Gould". Mike says that standing to drum allows him to open his throat for the high harmonies, but some say that he can't afford a real drum kit so he only plays a couple of pieces and an old suitcase. Leaves his sticks at gigs a lot. Peter plays bass way down low and sings way down low. He is a musician, singer, songwriter and performer that is that is very comfortable on the music scene. Peter was a catalyst, with Lenny, to start the band, who, while sitting around the pub every week who stated "We should sit around and drink beer AND play music!" Peter also performed with the Canadian National Ballet in 2002, has directed an award winning beer commercial, creates web sites, and acts in low budget porno movies - alright maybe he's not into porno. Starring in porno's, I mean. "You look like a bear what had a bum for a hat"
